The North Sea

Traveling off the beaten path around England and Scotland one year was an opportunity to photograph and come home to painting. This is the "North Sea." It now belongs to my friend from England.

Athens Flower Stall

This is a picture taken in Greece several years ago. He is one of my favorite men. I loved being there. This was taken with a telephoto lens and I made many adjustments in the flower stall, adding background and flowers everywhere. I guess I would part with a giclee but not the original.

Franciscan of Assissi

The Franciscan priest is a portrait from a picture taken in Assissi. I always thought this would make a good painting. Maybe yes, maybe no. He needs some more work but for now............I think he's done. Comments are welcome.

San Miguel de Allende

This oil painting
was from a photo
taken in San Miguel
de Allende. I spent
a week painting,
taking photos
saving this for a long
time, thinking it would
make an interesting
painting.
I have been pleased
with the painting and
welcome any comments.

Painting Tuscany

"Painting Tuscany" is a new painting that is in process and the composition has changed several times. Since this picture was taken trees have been added to eliminate a "gate" appearance. The background is finished and the buildings will be next. This painting is the 3rd in the series. Painting pictures of Italy has been exciting. The only thing better would be to take another trip and paint on location.
Comments are welcome!

A waterfall that is part of Thousand Springs on the Snake River in Idaho. It falls into a beautiful pristine creek that flows into the Snake River. It is located in the Nature Conservancy. With special permission John Killmaster and I spent a day painting this beautiful area. This is an oil painting taken from an original watercolor. Prints and cards have been taken from this image. I could return to this location and spend a summer painting. This is one of Idaho's most beautiful areas.

This is Tuscany. Although this is a composite of several images belonging to the artist, they are near Assisi and Chianti hills It's a reminder of the evening light, vinyards and farmhouses.

The gallery wrap is 24 x 30. Its companion, a painting in progress will measure 30 x 40. Both are unframed and ready to hang. This is a series of "Tuscany" paintings and other landscapes of Italy.
