Albertson's Park
Albertson's Park is a city park established in Boise, Idaho possibly 40 or more years ago. It was developed as a refuge for birds of all kinds. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to walk or rest, located on several acres of city property. This is a 14 x 18 oil painting with an exquisite gold frame. All paintings in my collection are original, many painted on location and the majority of them are for sale.

Charley's Garden-- Payette Lake
Idaho's well-known Charley's Garden located on Payette Lake is a beautiful area of the canyon driving north through the mountains. This gorgeous impressionistic watercolor was completed after a road trip through McCall, Idaho. Size unframed is 10" x 13". Just add mats and the beautiful gold filligree frame and it measures 17" x 20". One of the artist's favorites.

Southern France
A watercolor painted from a photo by Sandy Marostica in her travels to the south of France. Sandy was a wonderful photographer and artist living in Boise, Idaho. I had asked her to take some photos for me when she and her husband Larry visited in France. Sandy was a great mentor and friend who visited in Arizona. She brought her shows to Scottsdale, New York and the Pearl District in Portland, Oregon. She will be missed by art community and her many friends. This painting is "10 x 14" unframed and is available also as a print or giclee.

Devil's Elbow
Painting on a sandy beach on the Oregon coast, you can see the Coast Guard house high on a hill. This was a picture that had rocks, cliffs and rolling waves. Just indicating how violent the ocean could be seemed enough as the focus was the Coast Guard house. This comes from my watercolor collection.

Amorgos, Greece
Amorgos is one of the many Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. When I was in Greece painting, it was all about watercolor. It lends itself to watercolors which can be done on location making it unnecessary to bring home so many photos. It would be easy to translate this to oils, but it may not have the freshness of a watercolor. It's another wonderful place for an artist and I may go back and work harder since I wouldn't have to be a tourist the next time.
This watercolor image is "14 x 20" but has a triple mat, blue liners and large off white mat with a silver frame which as another 6 inches to each side. It was a breathtaking scene on a pristine island.

A Day In Venice
This is the typical picture of Venice. I photographed the canal and have painted it several times. Adding the gondolas seemed to give it some life. Like most every tourist, I could go back to Venice and sit down and paint forever. It was a great pleasure to walk around, cross the bridges and take in the sights and sounds of this famous city. My pictures continue to get larger since there is so much one can put in them. This size is 24" x 30" gallery wrap which requires no frame, beautiful from four sides plus the painting.

Thousand Springs
A waterfall that is part of Thousand Springs on the Snake River in Idaho. It falls into a beautiful pristine creek that flows into the Snake River. It is located in the Nature Conservancy. With special permission John Killmaster and I spent a day painting this beautiful area. This is an oil painting taken from an original watercolor. Prints and cards have been taken from this image. I could return to this location and spend a summer painting. This is one of Idaho's most beautiful areas.
This Is Tuscany
This is Tuscany. Although this is a composite of several images belonging to the artist, they are near Assisi and Chianti hills It's a reminder of the evening light, vinyards and farmhouses.
The gallery wrap is 24 x 30. Its companion, a painting in progress will measure 30 x 40. Both are unframed and ready to hang. This is a series of "Tuscany" paintings and other landscapes of Italy.
Since putting the Tuscany paintings on the blog they have been taken by a collector in California. With memories so fresh, they will be painted again, redesigned in another format which will improve the composition. Designing paintings and their composition becomes an exciting and creative process.

Here Comes The Sun
Oil painting - another desert image.
Having painted the "White Tanks", an area near Surprise, Arizona several times, this image continued to stay in my mind. The first painting was an evening scene, then two more developed suggesting early morning. It's an artist's gift to have mental images still available to do a variation on the theme.
Japanese Shrine
A week in Kyoto provided the artist with many interesting subjects. This shrine was the best.
Painting has been sold to a collector in Wisconsin.

Evening Desert -- Oil
Coral Fantasy
The painting shown was exhibited at West Valley Art Museum in Surprise, Arizona.
The "painting" is acrylic ink pour. I was pleased with the image and luckily it worked. Often the first ten are throwaways, then one turns out so delicious, you know to keep it.
